INITIAL VISIT
We come along to talk to you and see the garden. Among other things we discuss what you like and don’t like about your garden, what you would like in your new garden and the sort of inspiration that you’d like to see incorporated into the design.
After this meeting we’ll do a written brief for the design and get that to you, this is helpful to make sure we haven’t missed anything and to make sure we’ve understood what you want. We’ll also give a written estimate of how much our services will cost.

SITE SURVEY
An accurate survey of the existing garden is needed before the design can begin. We’ll do this ourselves unless the garden is very complex - in which case a land surveyor will be needed (we can sort this out for you).

SECOND VISIT
On the second visit we’ll bring along pictures which are relevant to your garden and your brief along with quick sketches of what we might do in the garden. We find looking at specific examples invaluable as a way of really getting to know what you like and don’t like. It may also be useful to you in firming up any thoughts you have about how you want the design to go.

SKETCH PROPOSALS
After this we should have a pretty good idea of what direction the design will take and we’ll do a sketch drawing (to scale) and 3D sketches of the proposal. These form a discussion document where we present our ideas and talk through any changes you’d like.

PRESENTATION PLAN
Once you’re happy with the design we’ll do a full presentation plan - this shows in more detail how the design will work with such things as levels and structures and water features drawn in. We can also work out phases for the garden if it’s to be done over time.

PLANTING PLANS etc
Planting plans show the specific location and spacing of all the plants. A schedule lists the plant names, sizes and quantities and is used for costing, ordering and setting out the plants. We can also do a maintenance guide which shows how to look after the plants.

CONSTRUCTION
Once the plans are in place we set up a meeting with our builder so that he can give guidance on how to proceed and so that we can get a quote to you for the implementation of the plan.

PROJECT MONITORING
We will monitor the building work and do several site visits to make sure all is going to your needs and satisfaction.

PLANTING AND MAINTENANCE
We can source and supply plants of the highest quality and at competitive prices from carefully selected nurseries. We can also lay out the plants and do the planting.

Having said all of this you may just want a consultation or just a planting plan, or you may not know exactly what you need - but do give us a call or drop us a line and we’ll do our best to help.
